格非，男，1964年8月生于江苏省丹徒县。1981年进入华东师范大学中文系汉语言文学专业，1985年留校，任中文系助教、讲师（1987）、副教授（1994）、教授（1998）。2000年获文学博士学位，并于同年调入清华大学中文系。 主要著作有《格非文集》、《欲望的旗帜》、《塞壬的歌声》等。有英、法、日、意大利等语种的单行本在国外出版。
